We are seeking a highly skilled Chalet House Manager to oversee the daily operations of a private luxury chalet. This role requires exceptional organisational ability, leadership, and a service-first mindset. The House Manager will ensure that the chalet operates smoothly, that staff are well managed, and that guests enjoy a flawless and memorable stay.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Act as the main point of contact for the family, ensuring needs are met with professionalism and absolute discretion.
  • Provide a warm, welcoming environment for family members and their guests.
  • Anticipate routines and personal preferences such as dining requirements, children’s schedules, and leisure activities.
  • Arrange daily logistics, including transport, ski passes/instructors, spa treatments, restaurant bookings, transfers and family activities.
  • Ensure privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure dining and lounge areas are always perfectly presented.
  • Oversee each meal service and maintain the highest standards of fine dining

Team & Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and oversee chalet staff (housekeepers, chefs, spa staff, drivers, butlers, seasonal staff).
  • Prepare daily and weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
  • Monitor performance, provide feedback, and maintain professional standards.
  • Lead daily staff briefings to align team on guest needs, service expectations, and daily priorities.
  • Ensure staff appearance, behaviour, and service meet luxury hospitality standards.
  • Organise training on service etiquette, guest care, and emergency procedures.
  • Lead daily staff briefings to ensure smooth coordination and clear communication.
  • Monitor performance and maintain service standards that reflect a private household environment.

Housekeeping & Maintenance

  • Supervise housekeeping to ensure is always immaculate.
  • Manage all laundry services including high end garments, ski wear, linen rotation, inventory, and garment care.
  • Check daily that guest rooms are cleaned, restocked, and maintained to 5-star standards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance, snow clearing, gardening, heating, pool/spa and technical support.
  • Manage household supplies and provisions, ensuring fridges, pantries, and wine cellars are fully stocked.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and ensure preventive maintenance is carried out.

Operations & Administration

  • Manage stock levels for food, beverages, cleaning supplies, and household essentials.
  • Oversee wine cellar and bar inventory, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Keep records of supplier relationships, orders, and deliveries.
  • Prepare budgets for household operations and monitor spending against targets.
  • Handle petty cash, reconcile expenses, and provide financial reports to owners family office.
  • Handle purchasing, vendor relations, and household inventories.
  • Maintain seasonal checklists and oversee opening/closing preparations for family visits.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and hygiene standards across the property.

Event & Experience Coordination

  • Organise private dinners, celebrations, or special events at the chalet.
  • Coordinate with chefs and staff to plan menus and wine pairings.
  • Arrange entertainment such as live music, après-ski gatherings, or themed evenings.
  • Liaise with external providers (florists, musicians, activity guides) to deliver seamless events.

Family Events & Lifestyle Support

  • Plan and coordinate private dinners, holidays, and family celebrations.
  • Work closely with chefs on menu planning, taking into account family preferences and dietary needs.
  • Arrange flowers, table settings, and special touches for family gatherings.
  • Organise leisure activities tailored to the family’s interests, including sports and wellness sessions.
  • Ensure all arrangements are seamless, with minimal disruption to family life.
