Job Description

Director – Financial Reporting (Emiratization role)

Location: Dubai, UAE 
Eligibility: UAE Nationals only 
Salary: AED 70,000 per month 
Function: Record-to-Report (R2R) / Financial Control

Role Purpose

On behalf of our client a leading organisation we are seeking a highly competent Director of Financial Reporting. This individual will lead the end to end Record to Report cycle and statutory/management reporting for a complex, multi entity environment. Own the month/quarter/year end close, IFRS-compliant financial statements, consolidations, internal controls, and audit interface. Drive process standardization, automation, and service excellence across finance, while partnering closely with business and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial close & reporting: Own the close calendar; review journals, accruals and provisions; deliver on-time IFRS-compliant financials, disclosures and executive packs.

  • Consolidation & GL governance: Safeguard trial-balance integrity; lead intercompany and sub-ledger reconciliations; enforce chart-of-accounts discipline.

  • IFRS compliance & policies: Interpret and apply current IFRS; maintain accounting policies/manuals; lead impact assessments for new or amended standards and ensure accurate disclosures.

  • Controls & risk: Strengthen ICFR and finance governance; monitor reconciliations; remediate control gaps; oversee anti-fraud and segregation-of-duties controls.

  • Audit management: Primary contact for external/internal audit; coordinate PBC lists; resolve findings; ensure clean audit opinions.

  • Process excellence: Standardize R2R processes across entities; drive automation (e.g., ERP/EPM, reconciliation tools, RPA, analytics) to improve speed and accuracy.

  • Stakeholder management: Partner with CFOs/Finance BPs, Treasury, Tax, Legal and IT; manage SLAs/KPIs; act as escalation point for critical close issues.

  • People leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team; set objectives; coach, develop and succession-plan.

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

  • Professional credential: CA, CPA, ACCA, or CFA (must have).

  • Degree: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (or higher).

Required Experience

  • Emiratization: UAE National with Family Book.

  • Big 4 audit background or multinational audit/financial reporting experience.

  • 8–10+ years total, including 3+ years in a leadership role within financial reporting/R2R.

  • Proven IFRS depth (policy setting, complex areas, and disclosures).

  • Complex consolidations and multi-entity environments; shared-services exposure is a plus.

  • Successful audit management (external & internal) and remediation of control findings.

Technical Skills & Tools

  • Strong command of IFRS and ICFR.

  • Advanced Excel; experience with ERP/EPM (e.g., Oracle Fusion/EPM, ARCS, FCCS) and reporting tools.

  • Data-driven mindset; comfort with automation/RPA and analytics dashboards.
