Senior Manager - Innovation and Technology Risk

About the role:
The Senior Manager, Innovation and Technology Risk Supervision, is responsible for leading risk supervision and oversight across a wide range of regulated entities within a risk-based supervisory framework. The role focuses on supervising technology-driven and FinTech firms to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, providing technical guidance, and supporting engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision of Regulated Entities

Lead and contribute to the supervision and monitoring of regulated entities to ensure compliance with supervisory standards, processes, and procedures.

Conduct desk-based reviews, onsite risk assessments, and thematic reviews to identify and assess emerging risks.

Analyse financial and non-financial data, identify risk trends, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

Prepare clear, concise, and evidence-based supervisory memoranda and reports.

Oversee implementation of risk mitigation plans, validate remediation outcomes, and escalate issues where necessary.

Participate in the assessment of new licence applications for technology-enabled and FinTech business models.
Technical Expertise

Serve as an internal subject-matter expert on technology and innovation-related risks.

Provide technical advice, guidance, and training to colleagues and regulated entities.

Stay informed on international regulatory standards and industry developments and provide insights to inform supervisory strategies.
Strategic & Project Contribution

Contribute to the development and implementation of supervision strategies and risk frameworks aligned with organisational objectives.

Participate in regulatory policy and guidance development, ensuring integration of technology risk perspectives.

Support strategic initiatives and cross-departmental projects to enhance innovation and ecosystem development.
People Leadership

Supervise, mentor, and guide junior staff members, trainees, and interns.

Contribute to internal learning and development initiatives, including leadership and regulatory training programmes.

Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional excellence.
Process & Policy Development

Identify and implement improvements to supervisory systems, processes, and practices based on international best practices.

Support policy development, review supervisory tools, and provide constructive feedback for process enhancement.

Maintain high standards of documentation, data integrity, and reporting within the supervisory framework.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

Engage professionally with senior executives and boards of regulated entities on risk and compliance issues.

Collaborate with local, regional, and international counterparts on areas of mutual regulatory interest.

Prepare reports, responses, and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Promote an open and collaborative communication culture across supervisory teams.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.

Postgraduate qualifications or certifications such as CFA, FRM, PRM, or CA are advantageous.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in regulation, risk management, or compliance within financial services or FinTech sectors.

Demonstrated experience in supervising or engaging with senior stakeholders in financial institutions.

Exposure to innovation-driven business models such as payments, crowdfunding, digital wealth management, or virtual assets.
