Interim HR Manager

South London - Hybrid

Temporary: 2 Months + Start date: End of January

Salary: Up to £25per hour

Role overview

This HR Manager role will be responsible for facilitating, coordinating, administrating and quality-assuring the organisation’s redundancy and organisational change process, from notice of proposed redundancy through to confirmation of outcomes, in line with UK employment law, organisational policies.

 

The postholder will act as a trusted operational HR lead, ensuring the process is fair, lawful, compassionate, well-documented and delivered to agreed timelines, while supporting operational managers and staff through the change process

 

Key responsibilities

  • Redundancy & Change Process Management: Lead the end-to-end redundancy and change process, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with UK employment law.
  • Manage redundancy pools, selection criteria, scoring, and moderation.
  • Draft and quality-check all formal documentation, including consultation and outcome letters and redundancy calculations.
  • Consultation & Employee Relations: Support and advise the Deputy CEO during consultation meetings, providing HR guidance and ensuring respectful, clear communication.
  • Manage sensitive employee relations issues and escalate risks as needed.
  • Governance, Risk & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and audit trails throughout the process.
  • Provide updates and summary reports to the Deputy CEO and CEO.
  • Identify and mitigate legal, reputational and people risks.

 

Person specification:

The successful candidate will have significant HR experience managing redundancy and organisational change processes in the UK, with strong working knowledge of UK employment law, particularly collective and individual redundancy. You will be confident handling complex and sensitive employee relations matters. A values-driven, pragmatic and compassionate approach is essential.
