We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP Engineer to join a leading real estate development team in Dubai. This is a hands-on, mechanical-led role focused on HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage and firefighting.

It is expected that you will be an expert in HVAC systems (VRF, DX, chilled water, district cooling), load calculations, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, water treatment, and firefighting systems. Possess strong coordination knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, generators, UPS, ELV/BMS, and DEWA compliance and have knowledge of UAE Fire Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, BS 7671 / IEC standards, and green building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Contract (Design & Tender)

• Review and validate MEP designs, focusing on mechanical systems while coordinating electrical and ELV elements.
• Verify plant layouts, risers, equipment rooms, and system zoning.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, project standards, and best practices.
• Conduct load calculations, optimize system sizing, and propose value engineering solutions.
• Lead MEP coordination workshops and manage authority submissions (DEWA, Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Municipality).
• Evaluate MEP tenders and prepare technical reports with recommendations.

Post-Contract (Construction & Commissioning)

• Supervise MEP installation on-site, ensuring quality, sequencing, and compliance with approved designs.
• Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and method statements.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, and site instructions.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems, including snagging and documentation.
• Monitor MEP performance during Defects Liability Period (DLP) and report on progress and risks.

Education & Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional certifications highly desirable (CEng, PE, LEED AP, Estidama PQP, CxA).
• Valid UAE driving license.

Experience

• 5–8+ years UAE/GCC experience in real estate development or major projects.
• Strong mechanical-led MEP expertise (HVAC, ventilation, plant systems).
• Experience across pre- and post-contract phases, preferably on residential or mixed-use projects valued AED 100M+.
• DEWA and Civil Defense approval experience.
• Developer-side or high-rise project experience is a plus.
