Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Description
A strategic and hands on experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial management of a fast-growing real estate development business in Dubai is now available. This is a senior executive role requiring deep developer-side expertise, complemented by strong knowledge of banking, investment funds, project finance, and capital markets.
Reporting to the CEO and Board, the CFO will be strategic partner, responsible for ensuring robust financial governance, supporting complex financing and investment initiatives, and driving sustainable business growth. The role combines strategic leadership, hands-on execution, and investor engagement, with full oversight of financial operations across all development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance, Investment & Capital Structure
- Advise the CEO and Board on capital structure, financing strategy, and investment decisions.
- Support long-term growth through disciplined financial planning, funding strategies, and investment evaluation.
- Analyze and structure investment opportunities with a focus on financial, tax, and regulatory optimization.
Funding, Structuring & Capital Raising
- Lead structuring and attraction of financing from banks, investment funds, and private investors.
- Participate in fund creation and management, including financial models, governance, and reporting frameworks.
- Structure and manage complex transactions involving equity, mezzanine, and debt instruments.
Project Finance & Mortgage Instruments
- Oversee project finance structures for development projects.
- Develop and manage relationships with mortgage banks and financial partners.
- Support creation of mortgage products aligned with off-plan sales and end-user financing.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management
- Own project-level and group-level budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Manage liquidity and cash flow across construction financing, escrow accounts, and sales collections.
- Ensure funding availability throughout project lifecycles and optimize working capital.
Taxation & International Transactions
- Oversee UAE corporate tax, VAT compliance, and cross-border tax planning.
- Manage international transactions, intercompany transfers, and profit repatriation.
Banking, Escrow & Financial Institutions
- Maintain and manage relationships with local and international banks, escrow trustees, and financial institutions.
- Oversee escrow compliance and reporting in line with regulatory requirements.
- Negotiate financing terms, covenants, and security packages.
Financial Reporting, Controls & Governance
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly management accounts, consolidated financial statements, and project-level reporting.
- Oversee statutory compliance, audits, and reporting obligations under UAE regulations.
- Implement and maintain rigorous financial controls, governance standards, and policies across all business units.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.
- Oversee ERP and financial systems implementation, automation, and reporting efficiency.
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
- CPA, ACCA, CA, CFA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Extensive executive-level experience in UAE real estate development; banking or institutional finance experience highly valued.
Expertise
- 10-15+ years of senior finance leadership experience.
- Strong exposure to developer-side financial operations, including high-value project funding and development finance.
- Proven expertise in structuring and raising financing, project finance, mortgage partnerships, fund structuring, and investor relations.
