Job Description

Location: London (Mayfair) with occasional UK travel
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 (flexibility required for evenings/weekends)
Salary: £55,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, professional and highly discreet Chauffeur to provide dedicated driving and vehicle management support to a senior diplomat. This role requires exceptional reliability, flexibility and service standards, operating within a diplomatic and security-sensitive environment where schedules may change at short notice.

The successful candidate will support official engagements, visiting delegations and high-level events, working closely with security teams and relevant stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality and protocol awareness.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Transport

  • Provide safe, punctual and discreet transportation for the Ambassador, family and official guests

  • Plan routes efficiently, adapting to traffic, security concerns or protests

  • Manage airport transfers, meet-and-greet services and ad-hoc journeys

  • Liaise with Metropolitan Police, Diplomatic Protection and private security teams when required

Vehicle Management

  • Maintain vehicles to the highest presentation and diplomatic standards

  • Oversee servicing, MOT, insurance and compliance documentation

  • Keep accurate journey, mileage and maintenance records

  • Conduct daily safety checks and report defects promptly

Support Duties

  • Assist with embassy-related tasks in coordination with the Building Manager

  • Run occasional errands and support travel logistics when needed

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a private, diplomatic or HNWI chauffeur

  • Full clean UK driving licence

  • Excellent knowledge of London and UK road networks

  • Experience in high-profile, security-aware environments

  • Impeccable discretion, professionalism and flexibility

Desirable

  • Advanced/defensive driving qualification (RoSPA, IAM or equivalent)

  • Embassy, government or diplomatic mission experience

  • Exposure to security or close protection operations

  • Calm, reliable and service-oriented

  • Highly adaptable with excellent judgement

  • Strong attention to detail and protocol awareness
