Operations Officer – 6-Month FTC 

Higher Education Client | London | Hybrid Working 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and proactive Operations Officer to join a collaborative and fast-paced Higher Education client on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a varied administrative and operational support role, ideal for someone with previous education sector experience who enjoys working across systems, processes and stakeholder management, whilst delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, managing multiple priorities and supporting both internal teams and external partners.

The Role

The Operations Officer will play a key role in administering core systems and operational processes throughout the annual cycle, ensuring an efficient and customer-focused service is delivered at all times.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholder enquiries
  • Managing shared inboxes and responding to queries within agreed SLAs
  • Providing guidance on registrations, certification, results and operational processes
  • Supporting the administration of learner management systems and assessment platforms
  • Maintaining and updating qualification, centre and student data accurately
  • Coordinating external assessment events and contact point processes
  • Producing, analysing and presenting reports from internal databases
  • Liaising with external providers to monitor and resolve system issues
  • Supporting payroll-related administration including invoices and achievement records
  • Organising meetings, booking rooms, taking minutes and coordinating logistics
  • Providing onsite support at conferences and events when required
  • Assisting with process improvements and supporting wider operational projects
  • Training and supervising temporary staff on systems and processes where needed

About You

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, solutions-focused and thrive within a busy operational environment. You will have strong administrative experience alongside excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key requirements include:

  • Previous administrative or operations support experience within the education sector 
  • Higher Education experience is highly desirable
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workload independently
  • Experience working with databases, systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident prioritising multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve proactively and use initiative
  • Experience managing inboxes, coordinating meetings and handling data accurately
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach
