Assistant Manager of Cyber Risk & Technology- UAE National
Job Description
A UAE National within the financial services sector is required to support in an Assistant Manager capacity for the Cyber Risk & Technology team. You will support the assessment, monitoring, and supervision of technology, operational, and risk-related matters across all entities of the organisation.
The successful candidate will contribute to risk activities, analyse technology and operational risks, support reviews and assessments, and work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen governance, resilience, and compliance standards. This position is ideal for a technology risk, cyber security compliance, or professional who is analytical, commercially aware, and able to assess complex environments while providing clear and practical recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the assessment and monitoring of technology, operational, and risk-related matters across regulated entities.
- Assist with technology risk reviews, thematic assessments, control reviews, and supervisory activities.
- Analyse entity specific information, technology frameworks, operational processes, and risk indicators to identify emerging risks.
- Review cyber security, technology governance, resilience, and control environments.
- Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather information, challenge assumptions, and support effective risk assessments.
- Prepare clear and concise reports, analysis, presentations, and documentation outlining findings and recommendations.
- Identify weaknesses in processes, controls, and governance frameworks and support remediation activities.
- Monitor agreed action plans and ensure risk mitigation measures are implemented effectively.
- Conduct independent research and remain updated on technology trends, industry developments, and emerging risks.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, regulated entities, and industry stakeholders.
- Communicate findings, risk assessments, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Cybersecurity or Risk Management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience within financial services, technology risk, cybersecurity, compliance, or operational risk.
- Understanding of technology risk management principles, governance frameworks, and risk based approaches.
- Experience assessing controls, processes, systems, or operational environments.
- Ability to assess complex information and identify key risks.
- Strong research skills with the ability to ask effective and challenging questions.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver quality outputs within deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with confidence engaging across different levels of an organisation.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team.
- Strong professional judgement, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Excellent command of English & Arabic, both written and verbal.
