Overview
A leading international consultancy is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly professional, client-focused organisation operating at the highest levels of service and discretion.
Reporting to the Credit Controller, the successful candidate will support the delivery of a proactive and relationship-driven credit control function within a highly professional, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively engage with clients to ensure all requirements for payment have been met and any queries are addressed ahead of invoice due dates.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and manage follow-up activity in accordance with the firm's credit control procedures.
- Identify potential barriers to payment and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to resolve issues efficiently.
- Act as a key point of contact for billing and payment-related queries, providing a professional and responsive service.
- Manage the credit control mailbox and ensure all enquiries are handled promptly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and credit control activity within NetSuite.
- Support the onboarding of new clients, including vendor portal registrations, verification of banking details, and coordination of client-specific requirements.
- Prepare debtor reporting and provide regular updates to senior finance stakeholders regarding outstanding invoices and ongoing client discussions.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 3–5 years' experience in credit control or billing related roles.
- Experience gained within a professional services, consultancy, legal, financial services, or similarly relationship-led environment.
- Proven ability to build credibility and establish strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach, with the confidence to address issues before they escalate.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and diplomatic manner.
- Experience using NetSuite or a similar finance system would be advantageous.
