Household Assistant
Job Description
Tiger Private is recruiting on behalf of a private family based in Knightsbridge, for a House Assistant.
This is an informal but busy family household comprising three children, requiring a House Assistant to join an existing service team of four staff members. The successful candidate will work closely with the household's chef and housekeeping team to maintain the smooth running, cleanliness, and organisation of the home.
This position would suit a candidate with prior experience in yachting or chalet hospitality seeking to transition into a land-based private household role.
The role may, on occasion, require travel with the family overseas and periodic assistance at the family's second residence in Surrey, with associated travel expenses reimbursed by the employer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily, informal food and beverage service to the family
- Support the chef with the preparation, organisation, and service of meals
- Work in close coordination with the housekeeping team to ensure all areas of the home are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and order
- Undertake daily tidying and general organisation of the household
- Manage household stock levels
- Report maintenance issues to household management in a timely manner
- Greet and assist guests visiting the home
- Collaborate effectively with fellow House Assistants to ensure full coverage of duties
- Accompany the family when travelling, as required
- Assist with the care of the family's three dogs, including feeding, as required
- Undertake occasional overseas travel with the family (optional)
- Provide periodic support at the family's second property in Surrey, including occasional weekend work
Essential requirements:
- UK citizen
- Fluent in English
- Confident and capable across all aspects of household service
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team
- Comfortable working around dogs
- Available to start immediately
Desirable:
- Prior experience as a yachting stew or chalet host
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Working hours: Shift-based, either 7:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–10:00pm
- Weekend work: Required approximately 1–2 weekends per month
- Strong work-life balance, with additional downtime provided during periods when the family is travelling
- Travel expenses covered for work undertaken at the family's Surrey property
