Financial Controller – F&B | Bahrain

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well established business within the F&B sector in Bahrain.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience within the F&B or hospitality sector, with a strong understanding of financial control, commercial performance and the key cost drivers associated with F&B operations.

My client is open to candidates who are both currently based in Bahrain or that are based elsewhere in the UAE but willing to relocate to Bahrain. Applications from candidates outside of the UAE will not be considered. The proposed salary range for this position is BD 2,500 to BD 2,600 ($ 6,700 to $6,900), depending on the candidate’s experience and suitability for the role. However,  there may be some flexibility for a higher salary/package for the right candidate, particularly if they have the required caliber, experience and are a strong fit for the position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Track, report and analyse budget variances across F&B outlets and operations.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and accounting records.
• Prepare month-end management reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis for the business.
• Monitor food costs, beverage costs, labour costs, inventory, wastage and overall operating expenses.
• Analyse individual outlet performance, profitability and key F&B financial KPIs.
• Provide senior management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to support effective decision-making and business strategy.
• Forecast future financial performance, profitability and cash-flow requirements.
• Prepare and analyse annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
• Ensure effective financial controls across sales, cash, inventory, purchasing and supplier payments.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, VAT, government regulations and company policies.
• Oversee internal and external audits and ensure the timely resolution of any audit findings.
• Supervise, manage and develop the accounts and finance team.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance position.
• Previous experience within the F&B or hospitality sector is highly desirable.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of F&B cost controls, inventory and outlet profitability.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls and regulatory compliance.
• Commercially minded with the ability to provide meaningful financial insight to senior management.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
