Job Description

Job Title: Chief of Staff to Minister in Togo

Location: Lomé, Togo (5 days in office)

Salary: €70,000 - €90,000 p/a (plus competitive package including relocation)

 

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Chief of Staff to work directly with a senior government Minister in Togo, supporting a major national transformation agenda. The ideal candidate will be happy to relocate to Lomé, Togo and work from the office five days a week.

 

The role would suit someone who is highly analytical, strategically minded and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex and politically sensitive environment, with the ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Minister with the execution of key strategic priorities
  • Coordinate across project delivery, HR, finance, operations and procurement
  • Prepare briefings, meeting materials and recommendations
  • Track key decisions, priorities, risks and deadlines to ensure effective follow-through
  • Coordinate management meetings, project reviews and taskforce updates
  • Identify and resolve cross-functional challenges and bottlenecks
  • Support senior stakeholder engagement across government and external partners
  • Drive improvements in organisational processes, accountability and efficiency

 

Key Requirements:

  • 7+ years’ experience in a similar role within strategy, transformation, government, consulting, investment, institutional reform or complex programme delivery
  • Experience working closely with senior executives, Ministers, government officials, CEOs or equivalent
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex organisations, programmes or portfolios with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and written communication skills
  • High level of discretion, integrity and professional maturity
  • Fluent French and English, both written and spoken (one of the languages of Togo is a bonus)
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of West Africa or Togo would be advantageous
  • Willingness to relocate to and be based in Lomé, Togo
