Private Chef – Haslemere, Surrey / Switzerland

Location: Haslemere, Surrey, with regular travel to Switzerland
Position: Permanent, Live-out in the UK
Schedule: Lunch and dinner service, 5 days  a week 
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 DOE

Tiger Private is seeking an experienced Private Chef to join a private household based near Haslemere, Surrey, with regular travel to the Principal’s residence in Switzerland.

This is a predominantly live-out UK-based role, preparing lunch and dinner for a small family. Typically, lunch will be for two Principals, with dinner for the Principals and one child. There will also be occasional dinner parties and entertaining. When travelling to Switzerland, the Chef will usually cook for one Principal, with accommodation provided for the duration of each trip.

The family enjoys healthy, beautifully prepared food using exceptional-quality ingredients. The style is fresh and relatively simple rather than overly elaborate, allowing excellent produce to speak for itself. They particularly enjoy fish and seafood, with meat generally served around once a week, alongside Japanese-inspired and European cuisine.

The Chef will have responsibility for the entire kitchen operation, including menu planning, shopping and sourcing the very best seasonal produce, maintaining the kitchen and managing stock and provisions. A genuine interest in ingredients and knowledge of excellent local suppliers, fishmongers, butchers and specialist producers would be highly valued.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Private Chef who is discreet, organised and confident working independently. They should understand the rhythm of a private household and be equally comfortable preparing simple, healthy everyday meals and catering for occasional dinner parties. We are looking for someone with a strong restaurant-trained or private household background, who is flexible and confident managing the kitchen independently. 

A full driving licence is essential, as the Chef will be responsible for sourcing ingredients and shopping locally. Candidates must also be comfortable with regular travel to Switzerland, where accommodation will be provided.
