Dog Trainer, El Gouna, Egypt.
Job Description
Tiger Private is seeking an experienced and highly professional Private Dog Trainer for a 1-6 month contract to join a UHNW private household in Egypt, responsible for the training, development and daily care of two teacup puppies.
Based between the family's private residences in Cairo and El Gouna, this is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished trainer with specialist experience in puppies and toy breeds. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a structured and consistent training programme, helping both puppies develop into confident, well-mannered and happy companion dogs.
Working closely with the family's Travelling Personal Assistant and wider household team, the Trainer will take an individualised and hands-on approach, ensuring the puppies receive exceptional care, attention and training while adapting seamlessly to the family's lifestyle and routines.
Key Responsibilities
Puppy Training & Development
-
Develop and implement tailored training programmes for both puppies, taking into consideration their individual temperaments, personalities and developmental stages.
-
Establish consistent foundations in puppy training, including house-training, crate training, basic obedience, recall, lead walking and appropriate socialisation.
-
Encourage positive behaviours and address common puppy challenges, including barking, jumping, separation-related distress and undesirable indoor habits.
-
Use positive reinforcement techniques to develop confidence, good manners and calm behaviour within the home and around visitors.
-
Provide specialist handling and training appropriate to teacup and toy breeds, with particular attention to their small size, safety and physical limitations.
-
Monitor each puppy's progress, adapting training methods as they mature and maintaining clear records of their development.
Daily Care & Wellbeing
-
Oversee the puppies' daily routines, including feeding, exercise, play, enrichment, grooming and rest periods.
-
Ensure their living areas, bedding, toys and equipment are maintained to an exceptional standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
-
Monitor their general health, behaviour and wellbeing, promptly communicating any concerns to the household team.
-
Coordinate veterinary appointments, vaccinations, grooming and other specialist services as required.
-
Ensure both puppies receive attentive, affectionate and appropriate care throughout the day.
Household Coordination
-
Work closely with the Travelling Personal Assistant and wider household staff to ensure consistency across all aspects of the puppies' care and training.
-
Educate and guide relevant household staff on agreed commands, handling techniques, feeding routines and training practices.
-
Provide regular progress updates and practical guidance to ensure training is reinforced consistently by everyone involved.
-
Ensure the puppies are comfortable and well-mannered around the Principals, guests and household staff.
Travel & Residence Management
-
Maintain consistent training and care routines across the family's residences in Cairo and El Gouna.
-
Organise and prepare all puppy-related belongings, food, equipment and supplies when moving between properties.
-
Accompany the puppies during transfers between residences and assist with travel arrangements when required.
-
Coordinate with the household team to ensure all pet-related travel requirements and documentation are organised.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will:
-
Have a minimum of five years' professional dog-training experience, with demonstrable expertise in puppy development.
-
Have specific experience working with teacup, toy or other small-breed dogs.
-
Be highly knowledgeable in puppy behaviour, early development, obedience and positive reinforcement training.
-
Have previous experience working within private households, ideally supporting UHNW, VIP or high-profile clients.
-
Be confident establishing routines and training programmes for multiple puppies simultaneously.
-
Demonstrate a calm, patient and affectionate approach, with excellent judgement and attention to detail.
-
Be exceptionally discreet, trustworthy and comfortable working within a private family environment.
-
Be organised, proactive and adaptable, with the flexibility to travel between residences.
-
Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other household staff.
Recognised professional dog-training qualifications or certifications would be advantageous. Excellent references and a proven track record of successfully training puppies, particularly small companion breeds, are essential.
Working Arrangements
The position will be based between Cairo and El Gouna, with travel between the family's residences depending on the Principals' schedule. Working hours will be flexible and dictated by the puppies' training and care requirements, with occasional evenings, weekends and short-notice changes anticipated. Working schedules and rest days will be agreed directly with the household.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently while maintaining close communication with the wider household team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Puppy Trainer to take ownership of the early development of two much-loved teacup puppies within a prestigious private household.
