Job Description

The Senior Design Solutions Manager (Intralogistics) is a highly specialized role that focuses on designing and developing complex intralogistics solutions for customers. Based in Dubai, UAE, this position plays a key part in leading technical aspects of the sales process, from understanding client requirements to delivering comprehensive solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and aligning with the comapny standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Data & Process Analysis

  • Analyze complex business data and customer processes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in customer systems.
  • Run detailed data analysis to define key project metrics like orders, orderlines, ABC profiles, and more.

2. Material Flow Diagrams & Sizing

  • Create detailed material flow diagrams for projects.
  • Determine size requirements and dimension functional areas for each subsystem.

3. Intralogistics Concept Development

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop intralogistics solutions.
  • Conduct technical feasibility assessments (Go/No-Go decisions).

4. Solution Layout & Visualization

  • Use 3D visualization tools and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to design solution layouts.
  • Ensure layouts are cost-effective and adhere to the company standards.

5. Budgeting & Costing

  • Prepare project budgets using standard budget tools and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

6. Project Evaluation

  • Compare multiple project solutions to create ROI and business case evaluations.
  • Drive design towards the most competitive configuration for customers.

7. Solution Documentation

  • Work with Sales Project Managers to prepare technical design documentation for presentations, offers, and contracts.

8. Customer-Facing Role

  • Lead technical discussions and solution presentations with customers.

9. Collaboration with Software Architects

  • Work with software and controls solution architects to integrate designs for complex projects.

10. Concept & Design Reviews

  • Prepare for and lead concept/design reviews, ensuring quality processes are followed throughout the design phase.

11. Training & Standard Tools Support

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard libraries or design/layout tools.

12. Technical Specifications

  • Collaborate with Purchasing and System Engineering to prepare technical specifications for RFQs to internal and external suppliers.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automation, Mechatronics, Systems-Management Engineering, or Logistics.

Skills & Experience:

  • 10 years of relevant experience in solution design, data analysis, and project management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
  • Experience with ROI and business case evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of intralogistics concepts

Competencies:

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer focus, and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English.
