Job Description
Salary Range: 6,000 - 10,000 AED per month
Position Overview:
The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the day-to-day accounting functions, including bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, costing and financial reporting. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills and a passion for the restaurant industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain daily financial transactions and records.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly financial reports.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
3. Payroll Management:
- Process payroll accurately and on time for all restaurant staff.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Handle employee expense reports and reimbursements.
4. Cost Control and Inventory Management:
- Track and analyse food and beverage costs, labour costs, and operational expenses.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and purchasing teams to manage inventory levels and costs.
5. Compliance and Reporting:
- Assist in preparation and filing all necessary tax documents and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
6. Process Improvement:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and financial integrity.
- Stay updated on accounting best practices and regulatory changes affecting the restaurant industry.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero will be preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Experience with POS systems and payroll software is highly desirable.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Certifications: ACCA, CA or other relevant accounting certifications are a plus.
