Job Title: Procurement Officer

 

Location: Nad Al Sheba 1, Dubai

 

Salary: Up to 10,000 AED per month 

 

 

Position Overview:

 

The Restaurant Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment necessary for the restaurant's daily operations. They play a vital role in ensuring the restaurant obtains high-quality products at competitive prices while maintaining inventory levels and adhering to budgetary constraints.

              

Key Responsibilities:

 

Supplier Management: Identify and establish relationships with reliable suppliers for food, beverages, kitchen equipment, and other restaurant supplies. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favourable agreements.

 

Sourcing: Source and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct market research, and solicit bids and proposals to ensure the best value for the restaurant.

 

Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, track usage, and forecast future needs to prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Implement inventory management systems and procedures to optimize efficiency.

 

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased products meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations. Conduct inspections and quality checks as necessary.

 

Cost Management: Work within budget constraints to achieve cost savings without sacrificing quality or service. Analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers.

 

Menu Planning Support: Collaborate with chefs and menu planners to source seasonal ingredients, specialty items, and unique products that align with the restaurant's menu and concept.

Procurement Process: Process purchase orders, verify specifications, quantities, and pricing, and ensure timely delivery of goods. Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth procurement operations.

 

Contract Management: Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, agreements, and correspondence. Monitor contract expiration dates, renewals, and compliance with contractual terms.

 

Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about food safety regulations, health codes, and industry standards relevant to restaurant procurement. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and maintain proper documentation.

 

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements within the procurement function. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline procurement processes.

 

Familiarity with Restaurant operations, including kitchen workflows, menu development, and customer service standards.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management. CPSM or any related field professional certification will be preferred.

 

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality.

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Hands on experience in procurement software.
  • Experience in Tevalis POS is highly desirable
  • Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

 

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
