Job Title: Finance Manager
Reports To: Group Finance Director
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of a freight forwarding company which includes multiple subsidiaries in Dubai, UK and USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the organization, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing strategic guidance to ensure business growth and profitability. You will play a critical role in performing day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and compliance across all business entities and financial institutions.
Our client are interested in candidates that have experience in the following industries freight forwarding, logistics, transportation industry or have worked in a start up environment. We can only consider candidates that are based in the UAE, do not apply if you are not based in the UAE with UAE experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the parent company and all subsidiaries.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial performance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations across all entities.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Oversee cash flow management across all bank accounts to ensure the efficient use of resources.
- Monitor and optimise working capital to maintain liquidity and support operational needs.
- Manage FX exposure through optimal currency management
- Subsidiary Financial Oversight:
- Collaborate with subsidiary MDs to provide excellent service across all aspect of Finance
- Collaborate with the UK Financial Controller of an affiliated company to align financial practices and standards
- Coordinate inter-company transactions and reconcile subsidiary accounts with the parent company.
- Review and approve subsidiary financial reports, ensuring alignment with corporate policies.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls to prevent fraud and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, accounting standards, and corporate governance requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes for the parent company and subsidiaries.
- Payments & Receivables
- Ensure that all payments to suppliers are controlled and made on a timely basis
- Ensure that customer credit limits are set and are not breached together with timely recovery of debts
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management and the board of directors.
- Advise on cost control measures, revenue growth strategies, and risk management.
- ERP and Financial Systems:
- Ensure accurate financial data processing, reporting, and analysis through automated systems.
- Recommend improvements to systems for better efficiency and accuracy in financial management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (ACA. ACCA, ACMA, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation industry.
- Proven experience in managing financial operations across multiple subsidiaries and complex banking structures.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax compliance.
- Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (preferably CargoWise).
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in international financial management and multi-currency operations.
- Familiarity with logistics and freight forwarding business operations and challenges.
