Chief Technology Officer
Job Description
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Location: Dubai (Remote work possible during summer months)
Department: Technology & Automation Agency
Reporting To: General Partnership (GP)
Status: Partner within the General Partnership
Salary AED 60,000 - AED 75,000
Our client is a Dubai-based private equity (GP) firm operating under an agency model where each division is structured as an entrepreneurial business unit. The firm oversees operational subsidiaries in North America and strategic investment execution from the UAE. Each agency is expected to grow independently, service internal mandates, and evolve into a revenue-generating platform with its own client base.
Position Overview
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for building and leading the firms technology and automation agency.
This unit is tasked with delivering secure, scalable, and automated digital infrastructure to internal investment platforms and operating companies. Over time, the CTO will expand the agency to service external clients, especially in regulated, capital-intensive sectors.
You will begin solo—architecting systems, managing development teams (in-house or outsourced), and setting cybersecurity, DevOps, and data governance strategies. As the agency scales, you will recruit a technical team and establish delivery protocols for high-trust environments such as fintech, regulated manufacturing, and infrastructure.
This is a partner-track role for a technical founder type who understands both enterprise systems and venture architecture.
10+ years in technology leadership roles, ideally in private equity, fintech, or enterprise software environments. All applicants must be able to write code.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Infrastructure & Architecture
- Oversee core enterprise systems (ERP, cloud infrastructure, automation pipelines, and communication tools)
- Design and implement digital workflows for internal departments (finance, compliance, operations)
- Set cybersecurity, data governance, identity management, and backup protocols
- Evaluate and integrate commercial software tools into the firms digital stack
Product & Platform Development
- Supervise or lead the design of proprietary platforms required by the firms projects (e.g., automation for regulatory compliance, blockchain-based traceability tools, internal dashboards, etc.)
- Translate internal project requirements into technical specifications and MVPs
- Oversee integration of off-the-shelf and custom components (APIs, web apps, smart contracts, etc.)
Agency Development & Delivery
- Build a service agency providing tech strategy, software development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure support to all of the firms operating companies
- Define service offering, team structure, SLAs, and pricing models
- Win and execute internal mandates as a proving ground; evolve to serve external clients.
Team Building & Vendor Management
- Recruit, train, and lead a Dubai-based technical team (5–15 engineers and analysts over time)
- Manage outsourced and fractional development resources until fully in-house
- Select and manage vendors, consultants, and infrastructure partners
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology leadership roles, ideally in private equity, fintech, or enterprise software environments
- Proven experience in full-stack systems design, ERP implementation, and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance standards
- Experience managing hybrid development teams (onshore/offshore)
- Previous experience launching a technology consulting or agency business is a plus
- Fluency with cloud-native tools (AWS, Azure, or GCP), scripting languages, and integration frameworks
Key Objectives – First 12 Months
- Complete enterprise architecture for the firm and its operational entities
- Deliver internal automation platforms and foundational digital services
- Define and launch the tech agency; secure first internal and external mandates
- Recruit core technical team and establish scalable delivery workflows
Why Join
This is a builder’s role for a CTO who wants equity, autonomy, and a clean slate to architect high-trust systems from scratch. As partner in the General Partnership, you will help define and deliver the technical backbone of a diversified investment group — and grow a standalone tech business in the process.
