Position Overview

Our client a PE firm are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to assume leadership of the firms financial affairs and to build and operate a full-service financial agency within the organisation.

This position is both strategic and operational: the CFO will be responsible for financial oversight of internal activities, while also establishing a scalable agency-style service unit to support the firms investment vehicles and, eventually, external clients. The CFO will initially operate independently, with the expectation to recruit and manage a high-performing finance team of 10 to 20 professionals in subsequent phases.

This role includes partnership status within the General Partnership and offers the opportunity to shape a key revenue-generating vertical of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership and Oversight

  • Oversee the financial operations of the firms internal entities, including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and fund flow management
  • Design and implement financial models for in-house projects, investment scenarios, and group-level performance monitoring
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, reconciliation, and compliance across all jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with the Legal & Compliance team to support future licensing processes (e.g., AMF in Canada)

Development of Financial Services Agency

  • Design the structure and service offering of an internal financial services agency to serve the group’s operating and investment entities
  • Provide accounting, corporate structuring, forecasting, and audit preparation services to internal clients
  • Lead business development efforts to expand the client base to external partners via referrals, M&A integration, and strategic relationships
  • Establish operational procedures, pricing models, and performance metrics for the agency

Team Building and Management

  • Recruit, train, and oversee a Dubai-based finance team aligned with the agency’s growth trajectory
  • Develop workflows, controls, and reporting systems to ensure accuracy, accountability, and scalability
  • Foster a results-driven culture grounded in technical excellence, reliability, and discretion

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within private equity, investment management, or multi-entity international structures
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, accounting oversight, capital flow management, and treasury operations
  • Previous experience in building or leading a service-oriented finance unit or shared services center
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and a strong understanding of financial technology infrastructure
  • Professional designation required: CPA, CA, or CFA (or equivalent)

Key Objectives – First 12 Months

  • Deliver robust financial projections and operating models for all internal projects
  • Launch a fully operational financial agency serving the firms internal business units
  • Win and onboard the agency’s first external mandates
  • Recruit and operationalise the agency’s initial finance team

Why Join

This is a rare opportunity to serve as both a strategic financial leader and a founder of a new business line within an established private equity group. The CFO will operate with full executive support and strategic autonomy while contributing to the long-term vision and scalability of the platform.
