Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading education institution as a Quality Assurance & Enhancement Officer. This is a fantastic role for someone with a background in compliance, regulation or quality assurance, particularly within education or awarding bodies. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining regulatory standards, supporting continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional service to centres and stakeholders.

 

Contract Type: 3-month, temporary role with potential to extend
Location: Central London – Hybrid (office-based 2 days per week after 1 month)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday

 

You’ll be joining on a 3-month temporary contract with the strong possibility of extension. The role will be based in the heart of central London, with a hybrid setup, moving to two office-based days per week after the initial month. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone available to start immediately and keen to contribute to a dynamic team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and process a range of quality assurance activities including centre approvals, grade amendments, complaints, appeals, and special considerations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and frameworks (e.g. Ofqual, SQA), and supporting audits, risk assessments, and self-evaluation processes.
  • Investigate quality issues, produce evidence-based reports with actionable recommendations, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on QA and compliance matters.
  • Support project delivery, data reporting, and regulatory submissions, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data management in line with GDPR.
  • Deliver high-quality administrative support, including minute-taking, report writing, and coordinating internal boards or steering groups.
  • Act as a key point of contact for QA queries, maintaining strong working relationships with centres, regulators, and internal teams, and occasionally visiting centres when required.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a quality assurance, regulatory, or compliance role.
  • Strong understanding of QA frameworks within education or similar sectors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident working to tight deadlines across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Experienced in using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Comfortable handling confidential information and complex data.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience within an awarding organisation or regulatory body.
  • Knowledge of the UK qualifications framework.
  • Project management qualification or experience.
  • Familiarity with regulators such as Ofqual, CCEA, Qualification Wales or SQA Accreditation.
