Job Description

A fast-growing technology scale-up is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support its finance function on a temporary 50–70% basis for an initial 9–12 month contract. The role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable activities within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing

  • Review, validate, and process supplier invoices
  • Match invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting systems

Payment Management

  • Prepare and process supplier payments, bank transfers, and intercompany transactions
  • Maintain compliance with agreed payment terms and internal controls
  • Support cash flow planning through timely payment execution

Reconciliation

  • Reconcile supplier statements, corporate credit card transactions, and cash accounts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

Expense Management

  • Review and process employee expense claims
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and approval workflows
  • Identify and escalate exceptions where required

Month-End Support

  • Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting requirements
  • Prepare accounts payable reconciliations and outstanding liability reports
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Requirements:

Experience

  • Minimum of two years' experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a similar finance role
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, growing organisation is advantageous

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in financial accounting and ERP Systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliation tasks
  • Comfortable working with digital finance tools and process-driven workflows

Contract Details
