Business Administrator

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a global energy trading and investment business in the City of London. This is a varied temporary role supporting a growing London office of 30 people, with a mix of business administration, HR administration and office coordination, working closely with colleagues in London and the Singapore HQ.

Key Details

  • Job Title: Business Administrator
  • Company: Global energy trading and investment business
  • Location: City of London
  • Rate: £20–£23 per hour
  • Contract: Temporary with the potential to become permanent
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the office / 2 days from home

The Role

This is a busy, hands-on role where you'll support the day-to-day running of the London office while also providing HR administration across the business. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and wants exposure to both business support and HR within an international organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive HR, administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the London office.

  • Coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes, including employment documentation, inductions, employee records and internal administration.

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate, confidential HR documentation, including contracts, offer letters and employee correspondence.

  • Supporting payroll and employee benefits administration by collating employee information, processing changes and maintaining accurate records.

  • Managing expense claims, invoices and travel expense administration, ensuring timely approvals and accurate record keeping.

  • Coordinating staff meetings, travel arrangements, diaries and general office administration where required.

  • Organising employee engagement activities, social events and awareness initiatives across the business.

  • Liaising with employees, managers and external providers while providing ad hoc HR and business support across different teams.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience in HR administration, payroll support, benefits administration, business administration, Team Assistant or office support.

  • Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes and handling confidential employee information with discretion.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a consistent commitment to accuracy.

  • Clear, professional communication skills and confidence liaising with employees, managers and external providers.

  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • A proactive, reliable and collaborative approach with a willingness to get stuck in wherever needed.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing international business in a broad support role, with genuine exposure to HR and the potential for the position to become permanent.
