We are seeking an experienced private chef to cook for a family and their guests over Christmas at a private estate in the Cotswolds. The client will be hosting 12 guests and would like a warm, relaxed and traditional festive celebration, where you will prepare and serve a classic Christmas dinner, with all the traditional trimmings.

Boxing Day will be a more relaxed day, centred on making the most of the Christmas leftovers alongside lighter dishes, snacks and nibbles for guests throughout the day. 

Key responsibilities:

• Planning menus in advance with the client, taking account of any dietary requirements or allergies
• Preparing, cooking and presenting all meals across both days
• Making the most of leftovers and producing lighter dishes and grazing food on Boxing Day
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food hygiene standards
• Working with the kitchen runner, who will assist with prep, service, washing up and general support
• Providing the client with a final shopping list in good time, as all ingredients will be ordered in for you

 About you:

• Proven experience as a private chef, or in a high-quality restaurant, catering or hospitality setting
• Confident cooking a traditional Christmas dinner for a group of 12
• A calm, organised and professional approach, with the discretion expected in a private home
• Flexible and happy to work in a busy household over the festive period
• Ideally local to the Cotswolds or Gloucestershire area

Kitchen runner (additional position)

We are also looking for a kitchen runner to support the chef across both days. This is ideal for someone with some kitchen or hospitality experience who is reliable, hardworking and happy to help where needed. Duties include prep assistance, plating and service support, clearing, washing up and keeping the kitchen tidy.

Accommodation

Accommodation on the estate can be arranged if needed. However, the client is initially looking for a local candidate who can travel in each day.
