Location: DIFC, Dubai

Our client, a DFSA-regulated financial services firm based in the DIFC, is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join their growing team.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the firm's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to all applicable DFSA rules and regulations, and managing the firm's AML/CFT programme. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, providing regulatory guidance while promoting a strong culture of compliance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the firm's appointed Compliance Officer and MLRO.
  • Ensure the business complies with all applicable DFSA Rules, AML/CFT regulations and relevant UAE legislation.
  • Maintain and enhance the firm's compliance policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Provide regulatory advice and guidance to senior management and the wider business.
  • Oversee AML, sanctions, KYC and client onboarding processes.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and risk assessments.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and liaise directly with the DFSA when required.
  • Deliver compliance and AML training across the organisation.
  • Investigate and escalate compliance and financial crime matters where appropriate.
  • Maintain all compliance registers, reporting and governance documentation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Compliance Officer and MLRO within a DFSA-regulated firm.
  • Must be DFSA authorised (or eligible to obtain DFSA authorisation) for the Compliance Officer and MLRO functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of the DFSA Rulebook, AML Module and UAE regulatory framework.
  • Experience developing and maintaining compliance frameworks within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering closely with senior leadership.
  • Relevant compliance qualifications (ICA, ACAMS or similar) are advantageous.
