This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work remotely from the UAE, Europe or the UK for a global venture capitalist firm. This is a new position to support the core finance team and the Partners.

The firm invests in deep tech and AI and you will be responsible for the daily fund accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting, and portfolio accounting activities across multiple investment vehicles and currencies. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with private equity, venture capital, or investment fund experience looking to develop within a fast paced and highly collaborative investment environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the accounting records for multiple venture capital and investment funds in accordance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual NAV calculations and financial reports.
• Record investment transactions including acquisitions, disposals, capital calls, distributions, realised and unrealised gains/losses.
• Prepare and review management accounts and fund financial statements.
• Assist with quarterly and annual investor reporting packages.
• Coordinate capital calls, distributions, subscription documentation, and investor reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank accounts, investment holdings, and portfolio valuations.
• Liaise with portfolio companies to obtain financial information and supporting documentation.
• Support external auditors during year-end audits and respond to audit requests.
• Monitor fund cash positions and assist with treasury activities.
• Ensure compliance with fund governing documents, investment structures, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Support finance process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, portfolio reporting, and management requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or CFA qualification (or working towards) is preferred.
• 5 years' + experience in fund accounting within a venture capital, private equity, asset management, family office, fund administrator, or investment management environment.
• Strong understanding of investment accounting, fund structures, capital calls, distributions, and portfolio valuations.
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and reconcile large datasets.
• Experience using fund accounting or ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple funds and meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
