General Accountant – DIFC

Location: DIFC, Dubai
Industry: Financial Services
Salary: AED 12,000 – 15,000 per month
Qualification: ACCA / CPA / CMA / CA (Mandatory)

This role sits within a financial services firm in the DIFC. We are seeking candidates who bring strong international exposure and experience working within globally oriented finance teams.  

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our finance function. The ideal candidate will hold a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent) and have strong experience within trading or commercial environments. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing compliant financial statements, supporting internal controls, and contributing to forecasting and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger management

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP

  • Manage accounts receivable/payable and ensure timely collections and payments

  • Handle inventory accounting, cost analysis, and reconciliations related to trading activities

  • Prepare VAT/tax filings and ensure full compliance with UAE regulations

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Liaise with external auditors and prepare all required audit documentation

  • Ensure internal controls are implemented and continuously improved

  • Provide accurate financial insights and reports for management decision-making

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • ACCA / CPA / CMA / CA qualification -mandatory

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within trading or commercial sectors

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and DIFC/UAE accounting regulations

  • Proficiency in accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks or similar)

  • DFSA exposure or experience is preferred

  • Advanced MS Excel skills and strong financial analysis capability

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
