House Manager – Private Household (Greenwich, CT)

Full-Time | Live-out | Multi-Property Oversight (Greenwich, Millbrook, CT Properties)

Salary: $150-$180k

Position Overview

A High-Net-Worth family based in Greenwich, Connecticut is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and discreet House Manager to oversee the daily operations of their primary residence and coordinate with additional properties in Miami, FL and a Farm Estate in Connecticut. The ideal candidate is a polished professional who excels in staff leadership, property operations, vendor management, scheduling, and providing elevated support to ensure smooth, efficient, and confidential household functioning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Staff Leadership & Household Operations

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise household staff across all properties (Greenwich home, Miami residence, and Farm property).

  • Create and maintain staff schedules, workflows, and performance standards.

  • Conduct regular team meetings and manage ongoing communication between properties.

  • Ensure hospitality-level service and professional standards are upheld at all times.

2. Property & Grounds Oversight

  • Oversee the maintenance and daily functionality of all residential systems, including:

    • Grounds, landscaping, pool, HVAC, mechanical systems, security systems, AV/IT, and household vehicles.

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and service providers for repairs, renovations, and special projects.

  • Conduct routine property inspections to ensure all residences operate seamlessly and remain guest-ready.

3. Financial & Administrative Management

  • Track household expenses across all properties and maintain detailed records.

  • Approve invoices, reconcile budgets, and provide regular financial reporting to the principal and/or family office.

  • Manage renewals for household services, vendor contracts, warranties, insurance, licenses, and permits.

  • Maintain household manuals, inventory systems, and procurement processes.

4. Lifestyle, Logistics & Personal Support

  • Provide driving support for principals, guests, and family-related logistics as needed.

  • Oversee care and scheduling for pets, household vehicles, and other personal assets.

  • Assist with event coordination, guest preparations, and travel-related arrangements.

  • Support principal and family in day-to-day needs with a service-oriented, solutions-focused mindset.

5. Security, Privacy & Risk Management

  • Ensure all household operations adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy standards.

  • Liaise with security staff, alarm providers, and technology contractors to maintain safe, secure environments.

  • Implement and monitor protocols for access control, emergency procedures, and property protection.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience managing a private household or estate for HNW/UHNW principals.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-property staff and workflows.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence.

  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in household management software, spreadsheets, and communication tools.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; comfortable driving luxury vehicles.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to Miami and the Farm property as needed.

  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving family needs, including occasional evenings/weekends.
