Lead Electrical Engineer- Design
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Lead Electrical, Power & Protection Engineer to own and deliver the electrical architecture and protection philosophy for a modular industrial power product. This is a critical role focused on safety, certification, power quality, and repeatability across future factories and deployments.
The successful candidate will define robust, compliant electrical systems that support black-start, islanding, and mission-critical operation in harsh environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the electrical architecture, protection philosophy, and power quality framework to ensure the product is safe, certifiable, and repeatable.

Own the electrical architecture and protection philosophy, including single-line diagrams (SLD), protection strategy, switchgear, UPS/BESS interfaces, and black-start/islanding functionality

Develop electrical documentation including SLDs, cable schedules, grounding schemes, and protection settings philosophy

Specify switchgear, MCCs, UPS/auxiliary power systems, inverters/VFDs, and electrical cabinets suitable for harsh environments (IP strategy)

Coordinate PLC/SCADA signal lists, interlocks, and critical alarms with Controls Engineering

Support procurement through technical evaluations of electrical packages and long-lead equipment

Oversee FAT and SAT activities for electrical panels and protection systems, ensuring evidence capture aligned with TRL-7 and certification requirements

Ensure designs support maintainability, operational safety, and clear isolation / LOTO practices
Required Experience & Skills

8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within power generation, industrial packages, or mission-critical facilities

Strong background in protection relays, switchgear, MCCs, and panel design, with familiarity with relevant international codes and standards

Proven ability to translate system requirements into vendor specifications and review vendor drawings and technical submittals

Comfortable working with commissioning teams and troubleshooting under live test conditions

Product-first, repeatability-focused mindset; comfortable with design freeze and change control

Evidence-driven execution with clear acceptance criteria and traceable proof

Strong documentation discipline with clean, auditable decision-making
