A private family of four, recently relocated to Verbier, is seeking an experienced, flexible and highly capable Live-in Housekeeper / Nanny to take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of their household and provide support with their two children, aged 11 and 13.

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working within a private family environment, is equally comfortable managing household responsibilities, cooking and providing childcare, and can adapt to the changing needs of a busy family.

Key Responsibilities

Household Management & Housekeeping

• Take full responsibility for the cleaning, organisation and upkeep of the family residence.

• Maintain high standards throughout the property, ensuring all areas are clean, tidy and well presented.

• Manage laundry, ironing, wardrobe organisation and general household duties.

• Oversee household supplies, groceries and day-to-day requirements.

• Assist with general chalet maintenance and coordinate any household requirements as needed.

• Prepare the property for visiting guests and provide additional support during busier periods.

Childcare & Family Support

• Provide attentive and reliable care for the family's two children, aged 11 and 13.

• Support the children's daily routines, activities and general requirements.

• Take sole responsibility for the children when the parents are travelling, which may include occasional periods of several days or up to 7–10 days.

• Provide a flexible and supportive approach to the family's changing schedule.

Cooking & Driving

• Prepare fresh, healthy and varied meals for the family.

• Plan meals, manage grocery shopping and maintain the kitchen.

• Drive family members to and from restaurants, ski lifts, activities and other appointments.

• Assist with general family logistics and transportation as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a private housekeeper, nanny or in a combined household role.

• Excellent housekeeping and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a private residence independently.

• Confident cooking skills and the ability to prepare meals for the family.

• Comfortable caring for school-aged children and taking sole charge when required.

• A confident and experienced driver with a valid driving licence.

• Excellent spoken English; fluency would be highly advantageous.

• Some knowledge of French would be beneficial.

• Flexible, proactive, discreet and adaptable, with a hands-on approach.

• Someone comfortable with the seasonal nature of family life, with quieter periods and busier weeks when guests are staying.

The family is based in Verbier on a permanent basis and is ideally looking for someone who would enjoy becoming a long-term part of the household, potentially for the next five years or longer.

There will be some quieter periods throughout the year, balanced by busier weeks when the family entertains guests or requires additional support. Flexibility is therefore essential.
