Job Description

A private family is seeking an experienced, reliable and personable Live-in Housekeeper & Private Cook to join their household in St. Moritz, Switzerland, ideally starting in December 2026.

The family spends significant periods of the winter and summer in St. Moritz and regularly welcomes guests into their home. They are looking for someone who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running and presentation of the property, ensuring the household is maintained to an exceptionally high standard.

The property is approximately 1,000 m² in total, with around 600 m² of living space across four floors and six bedrooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping: Maintaining the property to an impeccable standard, including daily cleaning, tidying and general upkeep.

  • Laundry & Wardrobe Management: Managing all household laundry, washing, ironing and care of clothing and linens.

  • Cooking: Preparing fresh breakfasts every morning, including fresh bread and orange juice, as well as evening meals approximately 2–3 times per week.

  • Guest Preparation: Ensuring guest bedrooms and living areas are prepared to a high standard ahead of family visits and entertaining.

  • Household Organisation: Taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the household and anticipating the family's needs.

  • Driving: Providing occasional driving services, including transfers to and from the ski slopes and Zürich Airport, as well as other local journeys.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be warm, discreet, well-presented and naturally service-oriented, with a genuine passion for hospitality and maintaining a beautiful home.

Requirements include:

  • Previous experience in a high-end hotel, luxury hospitality environment or private household.

  • Strong housekeeping skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Confident cooking skills, with the ability to prepare fresh breakfasts and a selection of evening meals.

  • Fluent English is essential.

  • A valid driving licence is essential, with previous experience driving in winter conditions and snow particularly advantageous.

  • A flexible, proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently.

  • A kind, approachable personality and a willingness to become an integral part of the household.

Candidates with experience in luxury hotels or private residences will be particularly attractive.

Working hours will vary depending on the family's presence at the property. During periods of residence, the role will require a consistent and hands-on commitment, with flexibility to support the household and guests. This is balanced by extended periods away from the property when the family is not in residence, during which there will be significantly more time off.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality or private household professional seeking a long-term position within a welcoming private family environment in one of Switzerland's most prestigious alpine destinations.
