Overview
A global Private Equity firm are looking for a Senior Accountant to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations within their London office.
The role will ensure timely processing of transactions, compliance with statutory requirements and the production of month-end and year-end financial information.
Responsibilities.
- Manage Purchase Ledger, including processing supplier invoices, payment runs, account maintenance and query resolution.
- Manage Sales Ledger, including monthly portfolio company recharges, reconciliations and intercompany postings.
- Maintain cash books and banking, process payments and complete regular bank reconciliations.
- Process monthly payroll using Sage Payroll Cloud, including PAYE submissions and HMRC compliance.
- Support month-end management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and reporting through to Trial Balance.
- Prepare and analyse employee expense reports and maintain accurate intercompany records.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and support FCA regulatory reporting, including RegData and ICARA requirements.
- Liaise with external Compliance consultants and legal advisers to ensure regulatory obligations are met.
- Support the annual external audit, preparing schedules, documentation and responding to auditor queries.
- Prepare and submit annual PSA and P11D returns, along with tax reconciliations and related compliance requirements.
Profile:
- Ideally AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years finance and accounting experience in a similar standalone role.
- Previous experience gained in Private Equity or Financial Services will be highly beneficial.
- Experience with month-end accounting, Trial Balance preparation and external audits.
- Good understanding of UK payroll, PAYE, VAT and HMRC reporting requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills, together with knowledge of Sage.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work independently.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
