Location: DIFC, Dubai
Salary: AED 20,000 – 25,000 per month

Senior Finance Officer – Role Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join their team in Dubai (DIFC). This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to play a key role in financial management, reporting, and strategic support within a dynamic environment.

The role will focus on financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, alongside overseeing daily finance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring cash flow, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis. The position also involves liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP standards.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely collections and disbursements.
  • Handle inventory accounting, cost tracking, and reconciliations related to trading activities.
  • Prepare VAT and tax filings while ensuring compliance with UAE regulations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls across financial operations.
  • Deliver financial insights and reports to senior management to aid decision-making.
  • Prepare and review financial reports for submission in line with DFSA regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to relevant authorities, including DIFC, DFSA, and FTA, covering VAT and Corporate Tax obligations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent (mandatory).
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a trading or commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP and regional regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with DFSA regulations is essential.
  • Exposure to European or South African financial markets is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
