Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the Insurance division of a leading Financial Services organisation based in the City of London. This is a key role responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and contributing to strategic financial planning across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements and management reports in line with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Oversee regulatory reporting and ensure ongoing compliance with FCA requirements.
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Support external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning activities.
• Develop and implement effective internal controls and financial policies.
• Partner with senior management to optimise financial performance and enhance operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in accounting, ideally within the insurance or financial services sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks and financial compliance requirements.
• FCA approval or eligibility preferred.
• Exceptional analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
