Senior Group Accountant – 6 month FTC

Overview

 

We are partnering with a growing global Private Equity firm to recruit a technically strong Senior Group Accountant to support the Group Finance function.

This role will play a critical part in supporting the group consolidation process, ensuring IFRS compliance, and assisting with the group’s consolidated financial statements.

Responsibilities.

  • Develop and maintain a consolidation model in Excel to independently validate the accuracy and completeness of the group consolidation system
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between consolidation system outputs and offline models
  • Provide assurance over the integrity of group financial data and consolidation processes
  • Review proforma financial statements to ensure full compliance with IFRS reporting requirements
  • Support the enhancement of financial statement disclosures in line with audit expectations and best practice
  • Apply working knowledge of IFRS 16 to review lease accounting across the group, including supporting calculations and technical documentation
  • Prepare reconciliations from local GAAP to IFRS across group entities, ensuring all required consolidation adjustments are captured
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is audit-ready, well organised, and clearly evidenced
  • Act as a key contact for auditors on consolidation and financial reporting matters

 

Candidate Profile:

 

  • Fully qualified ACA or equivalent accountant with a 2-3 years of post qualified experience gained within a corporate environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related discipline
  • Strong background in group reporting and IFRS consolidations
  • Financial services experience preferred, either within industry or professional services
  • Private Equity experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience building and reviewing complex models
  • Familiarity with consolidation systems, particularly Tagetik, is desirable
  • Highly independent and able to operate autonomously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and auditors
