Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced senior risk and compliance professional to provide ongoing support to an exceptionally professional team within Dubai.

Role Overview

The role involves complete risk monitoring and assessment across several organisations within the group portfolio. You will lead reviews, engage with senior stakeholders, and contribute to ensuring appropriate risk management and compliance standards are maintained. This position also involves contributing to the development of overall risk frameworks, and broader strategic initiatives by ensuring you possess update to date market knowledge and interactions with the relevant regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead risk assessment and all activities and outputs of the risk team
  • Review financial and non-financial information to identify key risks and emerging trends
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and on-site assessments
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to discuss findings and identify risk gaps
  • Recommend and monitor corrective actions and activities
  • Support evaluation of new business models, services, or applications
  • Contribute to the overall development and enhancement of risk tools, processes, and methodologies
  • Assist with the development of the escalation processes and areas of high concern with the Regional Head of Risk and Compliance
  • Provide expertise in risk and compliance
  • Contribute to support the development of policies, frameworks, and internal process development
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering an environment of continuous improvement
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Engage in senior level meetings, presentations, and discussions with internal and external stakeholders

Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years’ experience in regulatory risk and compliance
  • Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Additional professional finance or risk qualifications are highly advantageous
  • An excellent understanding of risk management principles and regulatory environments
  • Ability to operate independently and engage confidently across all levels of seniority  
  • Strong analytical, communication, influencing, and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership and team motivational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, professional and efficient manner
