Senior Workshop & Production Manager – Exhibition & Fabrication - Australia

I’m recruiting on behalf of a leading experiential and exhibition agency that delivers world-class custom-built stands, immersive brand environments, and large-scale scenic fabrication. As part of their continued growth, we're looking for a Senior Workshop & Production Manager to lead and scale a high-performing fabrication division.

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone with a deep technical background in exhibition stand building, scenic construction, shopfitting, or custom fabrication. You’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team and production facility, while driving operational efficiency, safety, and innovation in build quality and delivery.

You’ll work closely with project and design teams to ensure every build is delivered on time, on budget, and to world-class standards — while also playing a key role in scaling the business unit to a $5M revenue target with healthy profit margins.

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years of experience in exhibition, scenic, or bespoke fabrication environments

• Proven leadership of workshop teams including cabinetmakers, carpenters, welders, painters, and machinists

• Deep knowledge of modern fabrication technologies and equipment, including CNC routers, laser cutters, panel saws, and finishing processes

• Strong understanding of materials (timber, aluminium, steel, acrylics, laminates, paint, graphics, etc.) and technical drawings

• Commercial acumen — experienced in managing budgets, supplier relationships, cost controls, and workflow forecasting

• Ability to implement and maintain workshop systems, HSE compliance, and quality control procedures

• Confident working cross-functionally with design, technical drafting, and project management teams to ensure seamless delivery

• Clear communicator with strong judgement, curiosity, and the ability to lead through complexity
